TrainChief®plus+™ locomotive remote control System with OCU
This month’s product spotlight is our TrainChief®plus+™ locomotive remote control system with Operator Control Unit (OCU).
Control Chief locomotive remote control systems allow the operator to position train cars accurately from a safe vantage point, eliminating the need for control in the cab of the locomotive.
Fully Integrated Receiver
The TrainChief®plus+™ is a fully integrated receiver cabinet permanently installed into the locomotive cab. Each TrainChief®plus+™ has the flexibility to be customized to each locomotive equipment set and application.
Because the TrainChief®plus+™ is permanently installed inside the locomotive cab, this locomotive remote control solution is protected from extremely harsh environments.
The TrainChief®plus+™ is best suited for use in locomotives without MU connectivity.
Expandable Locomotive Remote Control Options
The TrainChief®plus+™ allows the incorporation of options such as speed control, headlight control, man down remote notification, speed limiting, and engine protection. It’s easily adapted to locomotives with different voltage types, brake stands or throttles.
The Control Chief TrainChief®plus+™ product line meets or exceeds FRA CFR 229.15.
OCU Transmitters for TrainChief®plus+™
Operator control for the TrainChief®plus+™ systems is provided by the Durable Lightweight OCU family of transmitters, available in three transmitter styles. The OCU’s are similar, but include modifications and customization to accommodate for different operational workflows.
Lightweight OCU – BTRR Transmitter
The lightweight OCU model BTRR is specifically designed for railroad operations incorporating our Brake/Throttle RCI system. It is easy to use, rugged, dependable and based on a commonly recognized configuration.
Lightweight OCU – BTIND Transmitter
The lightweight OCU model BTIND is specifically designed for locomotive switching operations. It is easy to use, safe, rugged, dependable, and based on a commonly recognized configuration.
Lightweight OCU – SCRR Transmitter
The lightweight OCU model SCRR is specifically designed for Automatic Speed Control operations by Class-I railroads. It is easy to use, rugged and dependable and based on a commonly recognized configuration.
Load Out Management
